When a country house weekend takes a turn for the worse, Bertie Wooster is unwittingly called on to play matchmaker – reconciling the affections of his host’s drippy daughter Madeline Basset with his newt-fancying acquaintance Gussie Fink-Nottle. If Bertie, ably assisted by the ever-dependable Jeeves, can’t pull off the wedding of the season he’ll be forced to abandon his cherished bachelor status and marry the ghastly girl himself!

This play tells of the loves, fears and joys of a Newcastle family during World War Two.

Helen is stoical, self-effacing and walks with a limp; her grandfather Andie recruits mourners to attend the burial of his dog; her devout Catholic mother frets about the local priest’s health; her father serenades an unwilling audience with popular songs; and younger sister Joyce dithers over a marriage proposal.
They all try their best to get on with their lives while the bombs fall around them.

In 1960s London, Susy Henderson innocently comes into possession of a souvenir doll. Little does she know it’s full of heroin and is being feverishly sought by a gang of thugs. Roat, a master of disguise, and his two henchmen try to use Susy’s blindness to trick her into giving up the valuable package. Can they convince her? Or will she turn the tables on them?

This tense psychological thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat right to its gripping finale.
