“It’s a Wonderful Life” – Live from the studio of WBFR in Rosanna, Melbourne. July 5-20, 2019.

Director Terese Maurici’s dynamic team really step up to the plate for this one!

It’s a Wonderful Life [A live radio play]

By Joe Landry – directed by Terese Maurici.

Dynamic performances by a cast – most of whom are changing character every few minutes. One minute we love them, the next, we are affronted by the character’s behaviour – a serious acting challenge in anyone’s book.  George Bailey’s dilemma is delivered with song, colour, and convincing dialogue. With one exception, the community of Bedford Falls look like a nice bunch of folk.

Should you get the opportunity to see this production – based on the classic James Stewart film and performed as a 1940s live radio style with a studio audience – it scores pretty well with the heart strings! An absolute “must-see”.

Inspired by the classic American film starring James Stewart, this production is performed 1940s live radio style with a studio audience. A fully immersive experience that will have you leaving the theatre full of love and joy.

Inheritance

by arrangement with HLA Management Pty Ltd, written by Hannie Rayson and directed by Tim Scott.

The 80th birthday of twin sisters Dibs and Girlie should be a cause for celebration, but as the family gathers in the Mallee, the question of who will inherit the farm dominates. Blue Stockings

by arrangement with Origin Theatrical, on behalf of Samuel French Limited,  written by Jessica Swale and directed by Natasha Boyd

1896 – Girton College, Cambridge, Britain’s first college to admit women.  This story of four young women during one tumultuous academic year, fighting for the right to graduate alongside their male peers, is set against the larger backdrop of women’s suffrage. Little do they anticipate the hurdles in their way; love, class division or the strength of the opposition.   ( Text by Chris McLean – HTC Posters & Programme).
