Mickey Johnston (Wayne Gleeson) and Edward Lyons (Liam Gillespie) re-establish a life-long bond as blood brothers.
Willy Russell’s “Blood Brothers” – by arrangement with Origin Theatrical, on behalf of Samuel French Limited – is directed by Bruce Akers for the Heidelberg Theatre season.
Set in Liverpool, Blood Brothers is the captivating and moving tale of the Johnstone twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences.
Written by Willy Russell of Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine fame, this play is both funny and sad as it explores the differences and conflicts of the boys’ upbringing, their relationship with each other, and with their real and adopted mothers.
